Moving to New Mexico
New Mexico. Land of enchantment. Home to Roswell, the Rio Grande, the White Sands national monument, Fiestas and off the grid eco-living. With a rich history of its people, from Paleo-Indians (the first known settlers of the American continent) to the Spanish settlers and finally to the Mexico-American war. With such rich culture and heritage you can't afford to delay your relocation to New Mexico for another day.
If you are moving to New Mexico you can be sure of one thing. You won’t be short of things to see and do. With an abundance of national parks and millions of acres of protected lands, mountains, rivers and valleys including the fabulous and famous Rio Grande gorge you will never be short of things to do and places to visit.
When people think of New Mexico they think desert. But what they don’t know is that it is a state with a little bit of everything. Sure it is hot and dry in the desert parts but NM also has the Great Plains in the Eastern region as well as forests, mountains and endless meadows. Some parts even get snow and attracts skiers from across the country. The summers however are known to be hot some if you are moving to New Mexico don’t forget your shades and sunscreen.
If you are moving to NM there are 3 main sectors that have the highest employment growth: gas and oil production, tourism and government service sector positions. With recent events in the economy manufacturing positions are reduced and are slowly being replaced by high tech and aerospace industries.
When it comes down to it New Mexico sits in the middle ground for cost of living issues such as healthcare and groceries but on the flip side of that coin the property taxes are some of the lowest in the country. This makes it ideal for new families looking to get set up or even an ideal place to retire.
Think that New Mexico is just a place for relaxation? You may be surprised to learn that this state has many excellent schools and universities and thanks to research facilities such as the Los Alamos National Laboratory intellectual people from around the world are making their way to NM.
If you start your relocation to NM soon then make sure that you go prepared. With sparse populations outside the cities and long highways be sure that you always take extra water with you and a fully charged phone.
