Moving to Nevada
Nevada. Home to the fabulous city of Las Vegas. With less than seven inches of rainfall per year you might be surprised to learn that 'Nevada' mean 'Snow-covered' but in the time that the Spanish were naming it they were referring of course to the Sierra Nevada mountains.
If you are moving to NV there are one or two things that simply must be tried. Thanks to the geography new and exciting sports have sprung up here and are attracting visitors from around the world. From drag racing your car across the desert to land sailing. Not into vehicles? Why not try a little rock climbing or zip lining. If you want to blow the dust from your hair then you must take a trip to the stunning Lake Tahoe and relax by the water, swim or take a boat ride. With so much to see and do here tourists are heading to NV in their millions. Maybe it is time to plan your relocation to Nevada?
As the name implies the Mojave Desert is a strong feature of both the geography and climate of Nevada. With high year round temperatures and little rainfall it is the driest state in America. For the unprepared the climate of NE can be somewhat surprising. With red hot days in the summer countered by extremely cold nights in the winter.
In the current economy Nevada is experiencing the loss of many businesses and jobs and has a slightly above average unemployment rate. While the government is has many ongoing projects aimed at boosting this it is a slow process. However industry specialists are always in demand and thanks it its wide variation in opportunities your move to Nevada could prove to be something special. Apart from tourism NE has strong sectors for agriculture and mining that significantly boost the local economy.
If you have planned your relocation to NV make sure you check your budget. Nevada suffers from a high cost of living compared to the rest of the U.S. as it does not produce its own energy and water must be well managed. Whilst it does have a strong agriculture sector there is little in the way of variation and many things still have to be imported which affects costs. One positive thing about moving to Nevada is that there is no income tax to be paid.
Be advised if you are moving to Nevada that there are many long stretches of highway including the Route-50 (the loneliest road in America) so always make sure you have a full tank of gas, a fully charged phone and lots of spare water.
